Canseco has apparently found a way to cover the investment dollars he was counting on getting from Magglio Ordonez
Paragon of integrity and outspoken crusader for truth Jose Canseco has issued an affidavit swearing that Roger Clemens was not at a BBQ at his home on the date specified by Brian McNamee as the occasion when Clemens first became interested in steroids and HGH.
If the House Oversight Committee investigating Clemens and McNamee believe Canseco’s statements they will have no choice but to conclude that Clemens became interested in steroids and HGH on a different date.
Canseco, you may remember, was last in the news for allegedly trying to shake down Magglio Ordonez for investment dollars in exchange for keeping Ordonez’s name out of the next tell-all book about steroids. Canseco’s new book is being ghost written by Pablo Fenjves - the person who ghost wrote O.J. Simpson’s book “If I did it…”.
Fenjves, speaking from his home in a moral vacuum, declined to comment on the project.
Steve Kettman, ghost writer of “Juiced”, however had this to say in a letter to the New York Times back in December “Serious thought was given to including Canseco’s recollections of golf course conversations with Clemens about steroids” (”‘Juiced Ghostwriter: I told you so [2007-12-19]“)
Those recollections? According to the affidavit, apparently that “I have never had a conversation with Clemens in which he expressed any interest in using steroids or human growth hormone“. Wow - too bad he didn’t include that part - it sounds riveting.
Asked to comment Canseco responded “I’ve been asked not to say anything.” - I’ll leave this as an open-ended insert-your-own-joke-here for everybody.
Momus
Seriously, Clemens is calling on Jose Canseco to help salvage his rep?
Dude - you’re doing it wrong.
