Because it apparently didn’t seem at all inappropriate, SI marks the death of Yankee pitcher Corey Lidle in the way I think he would’ve wanted to be remembered - as the first spot on a top 10 list of athletes who have died in plane crashes.

SI’s follow-up to this feature?� The top 10 times planes have crashed into buildings in New York.� Sure everyone will expect 9/11 in the number one spot, but I think they’ll go with a nostalgia angle and pick the B-25 bomber that ran into the Empire State Building in 1945 (http://history1900s.about.com/od/1940s/a/empirecrash.htm)
