Leafs training room - the stretching machine known as “the shoulder separator”

Alex Steen, Darryl Boyce and Alex Ponikarovsky are currently out of action with separated right, left and right shoulders respectively.

Certainly the excessive weight hands of stone place on a player’s shoulder is a contributing factor in these injuries, but many experts have also questioned the stretching program used by the Leafs training staff.

Said one Maple Leafs training staff member “The rash of recent injuries has caused us to reevaluate many aspects of our player fitness programs.  To be honest we’re thinking of taking the shoulder separator machine out of the workout room altogether.”
